A Story Worth Reading

Posted by BULSUstud

this is a fictional story..I have hust read it while looking for touching stories..

Years ago, there was a very wealthy man who, with his devoted young son, shared a passion for art collecting. Together they traveled around the world, adding only the finest art treasures to their collection. Priceless works by Picasso, Van Gogh, Monet and many others adorned the walls of the family estate. The widowed elder man looked on with satisfaction as his only child became an experienced art collector. The son's trained eye and sharp business mind caused his father to beam with pride as they dealt with art collectors around the world.

As winter approached, war engulfed the nation, and the young man left to serve his country. After only a few short weeks, his father received a telegram. His beloved son was missing in action. The art collector anxiously awaited more news, fearing he would never see his son again. Within days, his fears were confirmed. The young man had died while rushing a fellow soldier to a medic.

Distraught and lonely, the old man faced the upcoming Christmas holidays with anguish and sadness. The joy of the season-a season that he and his son had so looked forward to-would visit his house no longer.

On Christmas morning, a knock on the door awakened the depressed old man. As he walked to the door, the masterpieces of art on the walls only reminded him that his son was not coming home. As he opened the door, he was greeted by a soldier with a large package in his hand. He introduced himself to the man by saying, "I was a friend of your son. I was the one he was rescuing when he died. May I come in for a few moments? I have something to show you."

As the two began to talk, the soldier told of how the man's son had told everyone of his-not to mention his father's-love of fine art. "I'm an artist," said the soldier, "and I want to give you this." As the old man unwrapped the package, the paper gave way to reveal a portrait of the man's son.

Though the world would never consider it the work of a genius, the painting featured the young man's face in striking detail. Overcome with emotion, the man thanked the soldier, promising to hang the picture above the fireplace. A few hours later, after the soldier had departed, the old man set about his task.

True to his word, the painting went above the fireplace, pushing aside thousands of dollars of paintings. And then the man sat in his chair and spent Christmas gazing at the gift he had been given. During the days and weeks that followed, the man realized that even though his son was no longer with him, the boy's life would live on because of those he had touched. He would soon learn that his son had rescued dozens of wounded soldiers before a bullet stilled his caring heart. As the stories of his son's gallantry continued to reach him, fatherly pride and satisfaction began to ease the grief. The painting of his son soon became his most prized possession, far eclipsing any interest in the pieces for which museums around the world clamored. He told his neighbors it was the greatest gift he had ever received.

The following spring, the old man became ill and passed away. The art world was in anticipation. With the collector's passing, and his only son dead, those paintings would be sold at an auction. According to the will of the old man, all of the art works would be auctioned on Christmas day, the day he had received his greatest gift. The day soon arrived and art collectors from around the world gathered to bid on some of the world's most spectacular paintings. Dreams would be fulfilled this day; greatness would be achieved as many would claim "I have the greatest collection." The auction began with a painting that was not on any museum's list. It was the painting of the man's son. The auctioneer asked for an opening bid. The room was silent. "Who will open the bidding with $100?", he asked. Minutes passed. No one spoke.

From the back of the room came, "Who cares about that painting? It's just a picture of his son. Let's forget it and go on to the good stuff." More voices echoed in agreement. "No, we have to sell this one first," replied the auctioneer. "Now, who will take the son?" Finally, a friend of the old man spoke. "Will you take ten dollars for the painting? That's all I have. I knew the boy, so I'd like to have it." "I have ten dollars. Will anyone go higher?" called the auctioneer. After more silence, the auctioneer said, "Going once, going twice. Gone." The gavel fell. Cheers filled the room and someone exclaimed, "Now we can get on with it and we can bid on these treasures!" The auctioneer looked at the audience and announced the auction was over. Stunned disbelief quieted the room. Someone spoke up and asked, "What do you mean it's over? We didn't come here for a picture of some old guy's son. What about all of these paintings? There are millions of dollars of art here! I demand that you explain what's going on here!" The auctioneer replied, "It's very simple. According to the will of the father, whoever takes the son gets it all."

Puts things into perspective, doesn't it? Just as those art collectors discovered on that Christmas day, the message is still the same-the love of a Father, a Father whose greatest joy came from His Son who went away and gave His life rescuing others. And because of that Father's love, whoever takes the Son gets it all.

Healing Power of Chums.

Its really obvious that relationship with our friends affect our longevity. Married men,for instance live longer than unmarried men ones on average. Research suggests that people with the strongest network with their family and friends tend to live longer and live healthy. It is because friends and copanions may affect certain health behaviors such as smoking, as well as self esteem which may have a good effect to balance stress, that can have negative one.

so here i got a poem for my friends..
I did not compose it.I just found it on certain webs.

A friend is like a flower,

a rose to be exact,
Or maybe like a brand new gate
that never comes unlatched.
A friend is like an owl,
both beautiful and wise.
Or perhaps a friend is like a ghost,
whose spirit never dies.
A friend is like a heart that goes
strong until the end.
Where would we be in this world
if we didn't have a friend.

Milk causes Acne on teens.

Posted by BULSUstud

This is an old news..but I want to share it with my buddies..especially teenagers..
Milk is an oopaque white liquid produced by the mammary glands. It is a primary source of nutrition because it contains calcium, saturated fat, protein as well as Vitamin C.

We teenagers have been warned not too eat foods like peanuts.Duh!Its not true. But this one's a fact.Almost a pint of a milk can cause acnes on our skin.Grows! Those who drink milk everyday has a 50% chance of having large acnes and spots. Research suggests that we should take Vitamins rather than a glass milk everyday as a substitute of milk.Cream and cottage cheeses also raised the risk of the condition, however, chips, chocolate and pizza did not.

Well the cause is produces hormones that naturally nourish spots by making skin greasy and blocking pores.Sigh! All I can say is I love milk though!

today's top issues that affects our surroundings is the so called pollution..
Pollution everywhere...LOL!Im not an enviromentalist but now I'm starting to be one of them!!!I'ved read a lot of articles concerning the impact of pollution here in asia or even around the world..There are some global problems like the undying Global Warming..Nyahaha!!And i think its time to move on..

Here in Asia..to be specific CHINA!!China has been the main distributor of air pollutants in its nearby countries and places. Its reaaly sad to think what's happening to china..yep,their economy is growing but look they're destructing the ecosystem!! A billion car plus a massive desirability of industry helps the distriboution of pollution....

Cars..they exceed Carbon Dioxide which contributes to greenhouse gases.
United States of Ameria has the most number of cars in the world and they are the no.1 consumer of oil.I think the U.S government must do such implements on how to solve this probs qucikly!!

By the way here's alist of the most greenest countries around the world..
1 finland
2 iceland
3 norway
4 sweden
5 austria

and here's the most livable cities..

others called me at the phone....
thanks for them, they made me really happy!yah!
But what made me lonely is I'm not with my mom!
Ohuhu!!

the story goes beyond so far..
so here it goes!

If you read my previous posts, you'll know that my Dad was hot-headed always!Always, if there's an argument between him and Mom..you must run for your safety!hahaha!
So he got me!Punch me at the back of the head!Ouch! Then he's not happy with tha, he added a kick on my stomach!Ouch again!
Of course I will fight, that's not fair!hehehe...
I didn't actually fought physically but I fought with words of dignity!
I told him why he's done that! HE SAID I LOST RESPECT!whatda?
Me?Lost respect?

He has lost respect to us..both Mom and I!
After that he got a long branch of a tree, shorter than 1m.
Then,Before he will hit me, Mom came!!
Unluckily, Ma was also hit on her breasts.Ouch3x!
I was hit on the ribs!!Ouch 8x!

Well then..That day was on may 7-the day before my grand day!

I slept together with my lovely cousins!

The following morning it was my birthday and I was lonely, also for Mom.
Because what happened yesterday was so traumatic!

On a Saturday night several weeks ago, this pastor was working late, and decided to call his wife before he left for home. It was about 10:00 PM, but his wife didn't answer the phone. The pastor let the phone ring many times. He thought it was odd that she didn't answer, but decided to wrap up a few things and try again in a few minutes. When he tried again she answered right away. He asked her why she hadn't answered before, and she said that it hadn't rung at their house. They brushed it off as a fluke and went on their merry ways. The following Monday, the pastor received a call at the church office, which was the phone that he'd used that Saturday night. The man that he spoke with wanted to know why he'd called on Saturday night. The pastor couldn't figure out what the man was talking about. Then the man said, "It rang and rang, but I didn't answer." The pastor remembered the mishap and apologized for disturbing him, explaining that he'd intended to call his wife. The man said, "That's, OK. Let me tell you my story. You see, I was planning to commit suicide on Saturday night, but before I did, I prayed, 'God if you're there, and you don't want me to do this, give me a sign now.' At that point my phone started to ring. I looked at the caller ID, and it said, 'Almighty God'. I was afraid to answer!" The reason why it showed on the man's caller ID that the call came from "Almighty God" is because the church that the pastor attends is called Almighty God Tabernacle!!

power of writing:

Posted by BULSUstud

Writing is a powerful source of human expression.

From a single piece of paper you can withdraw all your feelings inside. Writing is one of my therapy today, many people enjoy, somehow,to release their pain, boredom, stress and etc.

When we look back through the old days, writing is a special form of literature. Those days writing is in form of Diaries and now it turned to blogging!

(yah!cool!)

I, Myself, I love to read books and poems!I also gain the potential of writing from friends and teachers. From writing, you can express your heart's desire and your mind's thoughts. I enjoy writing because it has a mysterious power whenever your sad, happy, mad, or confused!I had read a lot of articles specially in a mag Readers Digest! There are lot of stories there...

The power of writing is that it can inspire many people, inspire like, lifestyle, characteristics or even at the art of business!

How I Missed My True Dad(part2)

Posted by BULSUstud

I am back again!!here to post he second part!!

......Because Dad's disease was from the tanker-said the doctor, the company spent all the expenditures including medicines. Dad got the results that day called biopsy, I was a stupid boy that day and I asked How about dad's biopsy(fart!). They laughed hard and loud then after we got home i checked it on our Dictionary!Whahaha..Im so embarassed! The biopsy says that Dad's polyp was cancerous and needs immediate action before the cancer cell spreads throughout his nose and face. After a week of examinations, he got back to the operating room, there his bone on his left nose was chopped!OUCH! Now we were relieved that Da's nose was cancer free.

Dad made a demand to his company but is not that easy, after 2 months of hardwork he got his retirement fee and build his own business..Yes!those stinky chickens! At first i was happy because we only breed domestic chickens,no fights,no other necessities but food and some few medicines. But my Dad wasn't happy after all. He sold all of our chickens and changed it to gamefowl one.

A year after the number of chickens were tripled but guess what our bank account was sinking fastly. Dad got addictive or maybe too busy for his chickens that he had no time for us.He got addictive to his hobby-therapy,he called,he doesnt attend our worshipping service which is our family's tradition every week.

Well everything changed, Dad was always Hot-headed because we are near to bankcruptcy.
We already sold our car for 500,000php (10,000usd) just to maintain his business. But nothing happened after 3 months the car was gone, also the money! I was mad at him, if he chose his business wisely then we'll not end like this!

Everyday, here at our house, there's an argument between mom and dad, sometimes dad and me. Dad talks about money, but we do not consider money on running our lives, mon and I talks about respect to your family. I was taller than mom now and I know I can protect her from dad's harsh words. I knew how to fight though he slaps me on the face whenever I voice-out! But I was numb. I was hurrying up for my life, I want to be independent and stand on my own.

Last march i got my certificate of graduation and I'm ready for my college studies..
As of now, Dad was still here.Mom will fly to Dubai to work for my studies!GoodLuck to us..

maybe someday, I will forgive him for what he had done to us. But still I love him as a father.
and anytime he needs me I'll always be here for him..

^^,the end!

My First Story:How I Missed My True Dad..(pt.1)

Posted by BULSUstud

Do you believe that you can burst your anger with writing?
I believe so..A couple of months ago I have an argument with my Dad!It really annoyed me,that's why I decided to write my feelings on a sheet of paper...^^,

Actually, I'ved decide to send this story to reader's digest, but I think it wouldn't be picked!hahaha...LOL!This story was quite long for me,and I decided to halve it,(500+ per part).

how i miss my true dad:

It was the year of 2003 when my dad had retired of his job as an electrotechinician in a petrochemical tanker. After his reitirement, he now manage a small chicken farm not just ordinary chickens..Gamefowls!
I hate it when I always see those chickens cruelly battling.
He started his career job almost 28 years ago, whe he was still in the ship our life was do galant and luxurious, but we had earned a lot so much like we added some quarters in our house and buy a new car.
I remember those times, when dad makes a vacation for two months in our native province. He always buy me several toys that make my teeth hurt. I was really happy when he arrives at home.
When I was 13,dad got sick. We thought he it wasn't serious, beacuse its summer and its normal for someone who haved been on a dry cold place to adjust. His nose was always bleedin. He decided to go to a nose specialist-an ENT(ear nose throat). I am concerned about his condition so I asked mom about it. My mom speaks gently to me and said, Dad has a polyp inside his nose, as an innocent child I assumed that he will recover fastly. After that, Dad got inside of the OR at Metropilitan Hospital, somewhere near Manila. What I'ved hope for was true, he was really recovering fastly. After less than a week, we went back to the hospital to get the results and buy his medicine.....................
